On the banks of the River Thames, St Mary’s University College – ten miles from central London – is an excellent location for visiting athletes and teams preparing for the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in the years and months leading up to 2012. We have a lovely self-contained campus, situated in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, a leafy part of West London.
At the heart of the training base is the High Performance Centre at St Mary’s. Working with partners in Twickenham and Kingston, the area blends the core elements that are essential for pre-Games training: top class facilities; athlete / team support; sports medicine and sports science facilities and operations; non-training recreational activities; convenient location; and teams of experienced support professionals to meet your every requirement.
The area is secluded and quiet enough to concentrate on training, with one of the highest qualities of life in the country. Transport links are excellent, with Heathrow International Airport just nine miles away by road, and Central London just thirty-five minutes by train.
