Board of Governors

Introduction

The 24-member Board of Governors is responsible for the overall character and mission of St Mary's University College and for the effective and efficient use of its resources. It meets four times a year and the Chairman is appointed by the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster.

The majority of its members are appointed by the Catholic Education Service and the Chairman. Up to two are are appointed by the University of Surrey, one by the London Borough of Richmond-Upon-Thames and there are three staff governors (appointed by the Academic Board) and one student governor (appointed by the Students' Union).

The Board of Governors operates under a Memorandum and Articles of Association which came into effect with the incorporation of the University College on 1st August 2007 as a company limited by guarantee, having company registration number 5977277, and registered with the Charity Commission under registration number 1120192.
