CBET's Scope
Research
Research and funded projects on bioethics and the ethics and social impact of emerging technologies. CBET is a funded partner in two European Framework 7 projects: NanoImpactNet and NaPolyNet. It is also a collaborator in a cross-university nanobiomedicine research group.
Teaching
Research students (MPhil, PhD, Postdoc); MA in Bioethics; Engagement with the BA Philosophy, Foundation Degree in Healthcare Chaplaincy, and related programmes.
Consultancy
Ethics committees and working groups for government, regulatory and independent sector bodies, and advice and training to a range of individuals and organisations focusing on bioethics and technology policy: ethics and regulation, risk and standardisation, public engagement, and governance and public accountability.
