- Additional Information
St Mary’s offers a variety of accommodation on and close to campus called Halls of Residence. Our accommodation office can also advise on other types of accommodation such as homestay (where you stay with a local family) and available house shares.
Hall of Residence
Halls of residence applications open in mid-May and everyone who has accepted our offer will get a chance to apply. This is a process that follows our allocation policy so you will need to apply as soon as possible after receiving the booking information and make it clear why you are requesting certain halls. If you accept our offer after this time, please bear in mind that you may not get your preferred choice. A limited number of places in halls of residence are set aside for 1st year international students in halls of residence accommodation until 15th August.
Please visit our Halls of Residence page for a full list of University accommodation.
The cost of Halls of Residence accommodation includes a refectory meal package (available during term time only) which includes breakfast Monday to Friday, brunch on Saturday and Sunday and a meal every evening. All meals are taken in the campus refectory, which has an extensive menu to suit a variety of needs.
We recommend 16 Strawberry Hill Road to International students who would like to stay over Christmas (this is the only halls open over this time) or would like a quieter environment. This hall is also a great standard accommodation option providing good value for the area.
If you want Male and Female corridors Old House can provide this for you. Old House is the halls that is above the main part of the campus and provides basic amenities with an easy location to lectures and facilities.
If you want to en-suite accommodation or are looking forward to taking part in all the first year social fun then De Marillac could be the place for you.
Our Waldegrave Park Houses offers twin rooms for those wanting to share a room with someone else – ideal to keep costs low.
For those wanting to live with others to pursue together a life of prayer, study, community and service to the wider St Mary's community Benedict XVI House is a lay community just across the road from the University on Waldegrave Gardens which was established in September 2010.
