Information for Students from the USA

St Mary’s welcomes student applications from the United States. Whether you are a prospective undergraduate, postgraduate or Study Abroad student, we have something exciting to offer to you. St Mary’s is a state-funded university college with a distinct Catholic tradition and ethos, in historic surroundings in safe and pleasant suburban London.

What makes our offer so inviting?

  • Our undergraduate programmes are three years long and we can accept applicants directly from high school, provided that they meet our entry criteria for US undergraduates.
  • Our full time postgraduate programmes are 1 to 1.5 years long including dissertation and graduation.
  • This means that you could earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in just 4 years, as opposed to 6 years in the US system. Our BA / BSc undergraduate and various postgraduate qualifications are recognised at the same level as US undergraduate and graduate degrees respectively.
  • Our overseas fees are very competitive and can be paid in US dollars.
  • We are a recognised ‘Title 4’ Foreign School and have the approval of the US Federal Government to disburse Federal Loans. Our school code is 04143700.
  • We guarantee on or off-campus housing in dorms to our international applicants who accept our offer as their firm choice in time.

Entry Criteria

Our standard entry requirements are a High School Diploma with a GPA of 3.0 (B average) including English and Math PLUS one of the following:

1) SAT scores of 550+ in Math, Critical Reading and the Writing Section (1650).

or

2) The ACT with a score of 22 - 24.

or

3) At least two AP examinations with scores of 3 or above.

We assess applications from international students on a case-by-case basis. If you are in doubt as to whether your qualifications are sufficient, please feel free to contact us.
