Pre-Sessional English Programme
The English language requirement for entry to St Mary’s University College is generally IELTS 6.0 overall (or equivalent) for undergraduate courses and IELTS 6.5 overall (or equivalent) for postgraduate courses.
However, we may also consider prospective undergraduates with IELTS 5.5 or equivalent and prospective postgraduates with IELTS 6.0 or equivalent and request that you undertake the four-week ‘Pre-Sessional English Programme’ before starting your degree course. Students applying for a Tier 4 student visa will only need a single CAS in this case.
The course will combine the development of both language and study skills.

You will enjoy your summer in Twickenham. Our campus in Strawberry Hill is in a unique location, in between two busy towns, Richmond and Kingston; near two amazing parks, Richmond Park and Bushy Park, and Henry VIII’s summer residence: Hampton Court Palace.

Application
Prospective students who already meet our language requirement are still welcome to apply for the programme if they wish. Students often find that having this preparatory study before starting their degree course makes coping with their workload and daily life in the UK much easier, especially during their first year.
