'Simms Break', the summer activity programme for children and young people organised at St Mary's College, has recently been inspected by OFSTED. The programme has been held at the college's Strawberry Hill campus for twelve years and is run by lecturers and trainee teachers from the Physical Education BA (Secondary) department.
The inspection noted that the programme was 'well managed' by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff resulting in an atmosphere which was described as 'excellent'. The inspectors also commented on the positive interaction between children and staff and on the programme's 'excellent' procedures and paperwork.
Dr Richard Fisher, the Assistant Principal at St Mary's
College, said, 'I should like to congratulate all the staff and students
who work on the programme for contributing to this very successful inspection.'
