Distinguished Individuals Honoured by St Mary's College

Mr David Bedford, Mr Hugh Kealy, Dr Bernadette Porter, Mr Patrick Rogers and Professor David Stubbs were the recipients of Honorary Fellowships from St Mary's College on Friday. Honorary Fellowships are conferred on people eminent in their chosen field who have made an outstanding contribution to society.

Mr David Bedford, a student at the college from 1970 to 1973 and a record-breaking athlete, is the Race Director of the London Marathon.

Mr Hugh Kealy is the former director of the Catholic weekly paper, The Tablet.

Dr Bernadette Porter is the Rector and Chief Executive of the University of Surrey at Roehampton.

Mr Patrick Rogers is the Cathedral Visits Officer at Westminster Cathedral and is an expert on the Cathedral's architectural features.

Professor David Stubbs, of the University of Surrey, is one of the leading academics in the field of ergonomics.

The new Honorary Fellows were presented to the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Rt Rev Bishop George Stack at a ceremony at the college's Strawberry Hill campus on Friday February 27.
