Rob LakeMoney Raised for SHOCC

Dr Robert Lake of the School of Sport, Health and Applied Science at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, participated in the Cabbage Patch 10 road race at the weekend on behalf of the University College’s charity SHOCC (Strawberry Hill Overseas and Community Concern).

The event is sponsored by the Cabbage Patch pub in Twickenham and has been running since 1982 and this year approximately 1500 runners participated.

The race started on Church Street, Twickenham, and the route followed the Thames, went over Kingston Bridge, along the other side of the river to Richmond Bridge, and then finished in Twickenham.

Rob Lake became formally involved in running four years ago, when he ran the London Marathon in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  Dr Lake, who has Cystic Fibrosis, has raised nearly £10,000 for this charity.

Rob has run three marathons in total (two in London and one in Dublin), as well as numerous other half marathons and ten mile races.  He has run the Cabbage Patch 10 three years running.
