Staff Members Grow Moustaches for Charity

For the last month staff members of the School of Sport, Health and Applied Science at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham have been growing moustaches for the international event ‘MOvember’.

MOvember aims to raise awareness and money for the Prostate Cancer Charity and a total of nine staff members from the University College have been grooming their moustaches for charity.

Rik Mellor, the main MOvember organiser at St Mary’s, said “It’s fantastic to see so many colleagues showing their manliness in the form of a good handlebar or a Magnum-style moustache."

“It’s been a successful event this year with voting and donations given for the best moustache and some female colleagues have joined in by wearing fake moustaches."

“Whilst doing this we’ve heard many stories of colleagues and friends who have been affected by prostate cancer so it’s great to raise both awareness and money for this fantastic cause.”
