Annual Thanksgiving Meal Held

American and Canadian students participating in the Study Abroad programme at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham were invited to a Thanksgiving meal last Thursday.

The guests, some with their families, enjoyed a seasonal meal in the Waldegrave Drawing Room at the University College’s campus and the evening was hosted by Vice Principal, Dr Michael Hayes.

The students are from around twenty different institutions in the USA and Canada including Pacific University Oregon, Washington and Jefferson College, University of Wisconsin, University of San Francisco and Saint Vincent and Cabrini Colleges.

St Mary’s University College is expecting around thirty students next semester, including those arriving from two new partners: DeSales and Marymount Universities. The University College is also developing new partnership arrangements with a number of other universities in the USA, Canada and in Australia.

Mariann Baker, Head of the International Office at St Mary’s, said "Our students, far away from their homes on such an important date in the American calendar, were extremely happy to celebrate together."
