Sporting Rivals to Meet in Varsity Tournament

St Mary’s University College, Twickenham is participating in a multi sports Varsity tournament with Brunel University on Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April

The opening fixture takes place on the Tuesday evening at Richmond Athletic Ground, home to London Scottish RFC. The Women and Men’s Rugby Union will be kicking-off the event at 5pm and 7pm respectively.

The other sports will commence on the following day at St Mary’s and Brunel, and both institutions will face each other in nine different sport disciplines. The Varsity will be concluded with an evening fixture in Women and Men’s Football, kicking off at 5pm and 7pm.

The Athletic Union President, Jason Arday (pictured above) said, ‘Without doubt this is one of the most highly anticipated sports events of the year. This will be the first time that these two institutions will meet each other in a multi-sport event. Both institutions boast several 2012 hopefuls. I believe that this Varsity will be a fantastic spectacle and a great advert for student sport in Higher Education.
