Fundraising in the Bentall Centre a Success

Staff from the School of Sport, Health and Applied Science at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham (Team Human Science), spent part of last weekend in the Bentall Centre, Kingston promoting their entry in this year’s Race Across America (3,000 miles of cycling in under 9 days).

Their aim is to raise funds for their chosen charities (Leukaemia Research, Special Olympics – Richmond, and Strawberry Hill Overseas & Community Concern).

The team found the day a rewarding and heart-warming experience and said how much they had appreciated those people who either helped or very kindly gave donations to the charities. A total of £950 was raised on the day, making a total so far of around £1,500.

The team’s next event is a training ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End over 10 days during Easter.
