Sessions to be Held for National Adult Learners' Week

Whether you want to gain new skills or qualifications to get a promotion at work, want to learn more about a subject you’re interested in, or just want to take up a new hobby then adult learning could be for you.

St Mary’s University College, Twickenham will be holding a drop-in advice session and a series of free adult taster workshops as part of National Adult Learners week on 9th-15th May 2009.

The drop-in advice session takes place on 13th May between 3pm and 7pm in the University College’s Dolche Vita Café. Representatives will be available from the foundation degrees in Sport Health and Fitness,Education in Context, Psychology and Counselling and Social Care; short courses in the health, fitness and complementary therapies. Staff will also be available to give information about all of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes 

A team from the Healthcare Studies Foundation Degree course will be running a drop-in taster session between 4pm and 6pm allowing potential students the opportunity of scientifically measuring body fat using the non-invasive Bod-Pod.

There will also be a number of workshops where potential students can sample short courses, meet the lecturers, talk to current students and tour the facilities.

Fitness workshops will run on Monday 11th May from 9.30am to 11.30am and Thursday 14th May from 7pm to 9pm.

St Mary’s University College offers the OCR Level 2 Diploma in both Gym Instruction and Exercise to Music then the CYQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training and several 1-day courses are also available.

Complementary therapy workshops will run on Sunday 10th May from 11.30am to 1.30pm and Wednesday 13th May from 10am to 12pm.

The ITEC Level 3 Diplomas in Body and Sports Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy and the RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Nutrition are available to potential students.
