Media Arts Awards Presented

The academic staff on the Media Arts degree at St Mary's University College, Twickenham hosted a party on June 4th to celebrate the achievements of students graduating this year.

Three prizes were awarded. The Best Research Project was awarded to Kirsti Kauronen for her documentary on Brick Lane in London's East End. The Outstanding Achievement in Digital Media was awarded to Hannah Breheny who is now considering a career in teaching. The Alan Skeehan Award for Achievement in Sports Journalism was awarded to Sam Rhodes. Sam is currently working for Sporstbeat in Wimbledon.

Dr Daragh Minogue, Academic Director for Media Arts, said: "In spite of the recession, many of our graduating year have already secured a job in the media or a related industry. The rest are either planning to travel abroad or undertake further study on a post graduate course."
