Professor Gives Keynote Address in Japan

Professor Dick FisherProfessor Dick Fisher, Head of St Mary’s 2012 Preparations, is giving the opening keynote address at the 60th Anniversary Congress of the Japanese Society of Physical Education, Health and Sport Science in Hiroshima today (27th August).

Around 1,500 delegates will hear his presentation 'Social Change and The Future for Physical Education and Sport' which will deal with the impact of social change on these professional fields and strategies for coping in the future.

Professor Fisher is a former Vice-Principal of St Mary’s now overseeing all aspects of sport at the University College, as well as planning for London 2012.

A small cohort of attendees at the congress have studied at St Mary’s University College and several are scheduled to visit over the next two years, including an athletics coach chosen by the Japanese Athletics Association as part of their build up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
