St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, is to strengthen its links with the local community with the launch of a designated section of the website called Your St Mary’s.
The University College previously published a termly Gazette of news and information which was read widely on campus and delivered to local residents.
The decision to go online follows a listening exercise to local community leaders. Your St Mary’s is more environmentally friendly and interactive. The University College ethos emphasises high quality, academic and professional education based on a catholic foundation.
St Mary’s has played an important part in the local community of Twickenham and Strawberry Hill for decades. As well as providing a wide range of educational opportunities, sports facilities and a conference venue, it is a provider of a significant number of jobs and important to the local economy, particularly during term time.
Your St Mary’s will be regularly updated and will provide the local community with news, developments and features about the University College.
Principal Dr Arthur Naylor said today: “We’re always looking for new ways to reach out to the local community and, along with our new Twitter feed, Your St Mary’s is one of a number of initiatives the University College has launched recently to foster relationships with residents and organisations throughout the borough.”
St Mary’s University College currently offers 31 different undergraduate courses with over 400 combinations ranging from Sport Science to Film and Popular Culture. It is also popular amongst future teachers offering PGCE courses. As well as undergraduate and teacher training opportunities, the University College also offers various postgraduate, foundation, CPD (Continuing Professional Development), PGCE and short courses.
St Mary’s has an excellent track record of placing graduates in good employment or appropriate postgraduate study.
