Arts Festival Hosted for Second Year

Last September St Mary's University College played host to the SMarts festival, which showcased the diverse talents of the University College’s staff and students.
SMarts 09 takes place from September 26th-27th (daytime events: 12pm-6pm, evening music festival: 7pm-late). Whilst most events are free, admission to the evening music festival is for over 18s only and will be subject to a small ticket cost.

This year’s festival will include exhibitions, performances, shows and family activities from contributors from the University College and will also feature the talents of members of the local community.

Some of the bands and artists performing this year are current students and others such as Liz Arcane and the White Lightning, are performers who are well known names on the local music scene.

Other acts such as The Great Western Pilots and Simon Klein and the Monk Club have agreed to perform as a result of the 2009 festival's closer ties with the local community. A number of local artists and photographers will also be exhibiting their work at SMarts.
