The 2009 Teaching Appointments Fair for students of St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, is being held on the 18th November from 11am-2pm.
Approximately forty organisations responsible for recruiting hundreds of NQTs (Newly Qualified Teachers) will gather in the University College’s Tennis Hall for the afternoon.
In addition to a large number of Local Education Authorities, new exhibitors this year include agencies such as Eteach and ITN Mark Education.
The Teaching Appointments Fair provides an opportunity for teacher trainees and other interested parties to find out more about what different employers in the teaching sector have to offer. The fair is also a meeting point for employers and potential employees, offering students the chance to familiarise themselves fully with the job market.
St Mary’s Teaching Appointments Fair has run for many years and grows annually, last year attracting over 600 students. The event is sponsored by NASUWT (The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers).
