Staff and students at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, will mark the start of the new academic year with an Academic Mass on Wednesday 7th October (12.15pm) in the University College Chapel.
Lectures will be suspended from 12noon to 1.30pm to ensure that all staff and students are able to attend.
Principal Dr Arthur Naylor said, "The Academic Mass at the start of each academic year is part of the long tradition and heritage of St Mary’s as a Catholic University College. All students and staff are made most welcome at the Mass. As in previous years, the main celebrant will be Bishop George Stack, our Chair of Governors."
Father Gerard Devlin, the University College Chaplain added, "The Academic Mass is an important date in our calendar as it marks the beginning of our new academic year. Chapel is filled to capacity as staff and students join together in prayer for a successful year. The Academic Mass is also open to members of the local community and everyone is most welcome."
