A day conference entitled Ethical Issues at the Beginning of Life will be held at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham on Saturday October 17th (10.00am – 3.30pm).
The morning session will tackle the issue Making Babies – Naprotechnology as an Alternative to IVF presented by Anne Carus, Medical Director, LIFE Fertility Centre, Leamington.
Also before lunch. a paper entitled Soul Talk will look at World religions and the beginning of life, to be presented by Prof David Jones, Professor of Bioethics, St Mary’s University College
The afternoon includes an interesting session on Liberation Biology or Frankenstein Science? - Hybrid Embryos in the Press from Pauline Gately, Researcher, St Mary’s University College, before a final session, Starter’s Orders – Legal Aspects of Gamete Donation offered jointly by Wendy Hiscox, Lecturer and Research Fellow in Medical Law, St Mary’s University College and Trevor Stammers, Lecturer in Healthcare Ethics, St Mary’s University College and Conference Convenor.
