Education Students Create Mosaic

BA ITT (Initial Teacher Training) Primary Art students at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham have designed a twelve panel mosaic which will be hung in the University College’s refectory. 

The mosaic depicts images of university life and reflects learning, friendship and spirituality using symbols and colour. 

The students were inspired by the campus environment and particularly by the descriptions of the beautiful stained glass windows in the chapel. 

Community mosaic workshops were held in which staff, students and members of the public could learn the art of mosaic, whilst helping to create a permanent art work.
