2009's York Minster Festival

Choir Prepares for Festival

Following successful performances at Liverpool Cathedral in 2008 and York Minster earlier this year, the St Mary’s University College Choir has already started preparing for the 2010 Church Colleges and Universities Choir Festival.

Next year’s event will be held in Canterbury during the weekend of February 26th-28th.

Choirs from about twelve institutions will rehearse and perform John Rutter’s Requiem in the magnificent setting of Canterbury Cathedral.

The concert will also feature individual items from each choir. On the Sunday morning, all join together again for a service at which will be sung Stanford’s settings of the Jubilate and Te Deum, and Chilcott’s Irish Blessing.

The St Mary’s Choir is non-auditioned and rehearses every Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the University College.
