Irish Ambassador Bobby McDonagh will be visiting St Mary’s University College, Twickenham on Wednesday 24th February.
The visit will include a meeting with the University College Principal Dr Arthur Naylor as well as a tour of the campus and meetings with staff and students from the St Mary’s Irish Studies programme.
Mr McDonagh will also lead a seminar for Irish Studies undergraduates on the topic of Ireland and Anglo Irish Relations to which all University College staff and students have been invited.
Dr Ivan Gibbons, Director of Irish Studies at St Mary’s University College, said: "We value the support the Irish Government gives to the Irish Studies programme and welcome the Ambassador to the University College for his first visit."
The Irish Government fund the Irish language classes at St Mary’s University College and the Ambassador hosts the certificate award ceremony at the Irish Embassy at the end of each academic year.
