Thirty Sport Rehabilitation undergraduates from St Mary’s University College, Twickenham worked as volunteers at the 2010 Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 25th April.
The students, who were a mix of levels 1, 2 and 3, were at the finish line using sports massage skills on the tired runners who had completed the marathon. Each team of students worked with runners representing three different charities: Cancer Research UK, The Mental Health Foundation and The Children's Society.
Sport Rehabilitation lecturer Sam McGill said: "The students did an amazing job and worked tirelessly. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students to get real experience of post event massages and give up their time for such wonderful charities."
