St Mary’s University College, Twickenham athlete Mo Farah won the European Cup 10,000m title in Marseille on Saturday 5th June, achieving victory with a time of 27:28.86.
Farah, who has been in a period of altitude training in Kenya recently, showed strong form as he took a 40 second lead ahead of second place Meftah Abdellatif from France.
Of the victory, Mo Farah said: "My main aim was to get the qualifying time for the European Championships. I am delighted to have done it and I feel like I have a lot more in the tank and can run much faster over the distance. I am looking forward to getting back into a period of training now and preparing for that."
Mo Farah was the only member of the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Island Men’s team to run in the ‘A’ race.
