Drama St Mary's Partners Charity in Malawi

St Mary’s University College, Twickenham's Applied Theatre degree has partnered with the charity Theatre for a Change (TfaC) in Malawi.

The two organisations will buy an existing theatre space in the centre of Malawi’s capital city, Lilongwe, to act as a safe space for disadvantaged groups in the community to meet and explore changes they wish to make to their lives.

Applied Theatre students will work as advocates for TfaC in the UK with an initial goal of raising £40,000 to enable TfaC to buy the theatre.

In January 2011, the students will be producing a one-off fundraising performance in The Theatre at St Mary’s for the cause.
