St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, in collaboration with the Brief Strategic Therapy & Clinical Hypnosis Foundation (BST Foundation), is now offering a BSc (Hons) university awarded academic qualification in Clinical Hypnosis.
The aim is to recognise Clinical Hypnosis as an academic and scientific therapeutic approach.
The new BSc Hons is a significant step in the recognition of hypnotherapy as a mainstream and extremely effective therapeutic discipline and no longer an alternative approach.
This qualification is a timely development, with the UK government moving towards greater regulation for all therapies. St Mary’s and the BST Foundation’s 3 year degree sets the benchmark for training in hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy is now commonly available within the NHS. Not only does the BSc set a consistent benchmark of therapeutic excellence, but by setting a standard to look for when seeking hypnotherapy, will also serve as a starting point for safeguarding the general public.
