The British Olympic Association (BOA) in partnership with the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) held their ‘Generation 2018’ multi-sport training camp at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham last month.
Twenty-two athletes attended from nine different winter Olympic sports including curling, bobsleigh, cross country and alpine skiing, snowboard cross, ski cross, biathlon, figure skating and ice hockey.
The programme consisted of conditioning sessions both in the gym and on the track, physiological testing and seminars on injury prevention, the principles of training to win and planning for success. There was also a visit from Sir Clive Woodward, the BOA’s Director of Olympic Performance, who was the guest speaker on Tuesday evening on the subject of team building.
