Several current and former students of St Mary’s University College, Twickenham will be competing in the 2010 Commonwealth Games taking place in Delhi during October.
Current undergraduates Charlotte Purdue and Andy Vernon will be competing for Team England in the men’s and women’s 10,000m and Zane Duquiem will be competing for Team Jersey in the Discus event. Steph Twell, a St Mary’s postgraduate student and employee will be competing in the Women’s 1500 and 5000m for Team Scotland.
Andrew Osagie, who currently resides at the University College and trains out of the Endurance, Performance and Coaching Centre, will be competing for Team England in the 800m along with former St Mary’s student Darren St Clair.
Andrew Baddeley, a former St Mary’s student will be competing with Colin McCourt in the 1500m for team England. Colin also trains with the University Colleges Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre and also lives on campus.
Former St Mary’s student James McIlroy will be competing in the men’s 800m event for Northern Ireland. James was one of the athletes who first worked from the St Mary’s Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre.
