Teddington Lift Share Scheme Launched

St Mary’s University College, Twickenham – in conjunction with the Teddington Travel to Work Network – is taking part in a new lift share scheme starting with the National Liftshare Week, which runs from Monday 4th to Friday 8th October.

The scheme is designed to assist individuals with finding car share partners, not only within St Mary’s but also with Teddington group members including the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington Studios, Haymarket Media, Tearfund, NHS Richmond and The National Measurement Office.

The online system matches people who commute via similar routes so they can travel together. It is not limited to car users – people are also able to register to share bike, walking or taxi journeys.

St Mary’s Vice Principal David Leen said: "St Mary’s is committed to its Green Travel Plan as part of our overall Sustainability Strategy.  The Green Travel Plan includes the key objective of reducing sole occupancy car usage and the new Liftshare Scheme is an important innovation."
