2012 Volunteers Recruited

One hundred specialist sports volunteers have been recruited to assist with Olympic and Paralympic sports by the London Olympic Organising Committee (LOCOG) and St Mary's University College, Twickenham's Sport St Mary’s.

Sport St Mary’s was one of eight university sports departments around the country that were asked to find suitable candidates to assist with the Olympic sports handball and wrestling and Paralympic sports goalball and boccia.

The University College was chosen by LOCOG to facilitate the recruitment due to the well established culture of staff and student volunteering in a range of sporting activity that takes place in and around St Mary’s.

Those that are accepted by LOCOG will be involved with their sports, taking roles within International Federation Liaison, Athlete Services, Field of Play and Warm Up and Training.

Successful applicants will be notified in the week beginning 11th October. Those who were unsuccessful or did not apply are still able to apply through the public application process which shuts on the 27th October.
