SMUC Radio Wins Bronze Award

SMUC Radio, the student run radio station at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham has won the bronze award for Best Interview at the Student Radio Awards 2010. The awards ceremony was held on Thursday 11th November at the IndigO2 at the O2 Arena, hosted by Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton.

St Mary’s Student Union Media, Marketing and Communications Administrator Dave Hayes and Deputy Station Manager Tarik Habte had previously made it to a final shortlist of six nominees in the category ‘Best Interview’ for their interview with Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament and Business Secretary, Dr Vince Cable MP.

With around 2,000 people attending the awards ceremony at The IndigO2, St Mary’s Students' Union President Siobhan Bellot said, "We are all very proud of Dave and Tarik. It’s great that all their hard work has been acknowledged. It was such a spectacular night and was a true celebration of student radio."
