Success for Students at British Indoor Championships

EPACC Athletes at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham competed in the 2013 British Athletics UK Indoor Championships.

It was a successful weekend for two athletes from the Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham after competing in the British Athletics UK Indoor Championships in Sheffield. First year student Charlie Grice took 3rd place in the 1500m event with a time of 3:48.34, his first senior national medal. In the same event, his first senior national race, final year student Rhys Glastonbury finished in 6th place with a personal best time of 3:49.34. The competition also saw final year Sport Science Student Zane Duquemin take second place in the shot put event with a personal best distance of 18.50m. Charlie will now compete in the British Athletics Grand Prix this Saturday 16th February in Birmingham, for a place in the European Indoor Championships. He will be joined by fellow EPACC athlete and Olympic finalist Andrew Osagie who will run in the 800m event. The British Athletics Grand Prix will be aired on BBC One this Saturday 16th February from 1pm.
