St Mary’s Athletes Qualify for World Cross Country Championships

Athletes associated with St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, have been selected to represent Team GB in the 2013 World Cross Country Championships

Athletes associated with the Endurance, Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham have been selected to represent Team GB in the 2013 World Cross Country Championships. Three EPACC athletes will represent Team GB in the event, which will take place on Sunday 24th March in Bydgoszcz, Poland. St Mary’s graduate Steph Twell along with EPACC athletes Emelia Gorecka and Mike Skinner, secured their place in the World Championships after competing in the Intercounties Cross Country Championships at the weekend. This weekend, St Mary’s is also hosting the British Milers’ Club National Endurance Coaches Symposium on Sunday 17th March. There will be talks on developing an altitude strategy, managing the changes in athlete/coach relationships and planning and preparation of an athlete for competition. St Mary’s EPACC coach Craig Winrow, will also talk about his experiences as coach to Olympians Andrew Osagie and Ross Murray.
