Students Rush for Places at St Mary’s this September

The Clearing phone lines at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham have been inundated with calls from students looking to secure a place to study this September. This was the first year that St Mary’s entered the Clearing process since 2010 and with a small number places available, students keen to study at the University College were quick off the mark to get in touch when the phone lines opened at 8am yesterday (Thursday 15^th August). Since opening, St Mary’s has received calls from prospective students who have just missed out on their predicted A-Level grades, as well as those who have done better than expected and are eager to study at the University College this September. St Mary’s Registrar Tam Milner said, “St Mary’s has a lot to offer students. With a commitment to high-quality teaching and research, more than 60 per cent of students graduated with a 2.1 or first class degree this year, and 94 per cent are in full-time employment or further education within six months of graduation. What’s more, thanks to its small campus, the University College has a wonderful community atmosphere which really appeals to students who are, quite often, moving away from home for the first time. “St Mary’s hasn’t entered the Clearing process for several years, and with a limited number of courses on offer, places are filling very quickly. It is often a stressful time for students, so it is great to be able to find the right course for them and help them to enjoy the rest of their summer, knowing that they have a university place secured for September.” There are a limited number of undergraduate places available in a variety of subjects.
