The School of Education, Theology and Leadership at St Mary’s University, Twickenham is set to host a summer school for teachers working in international schools from Monday 30th June – Friday 4th July, in response to the increasing demands of development in the expanding global school sector. The five-day event, entitled International Mindedness in Practice, aims to help educators develop teaching methods that are culturally aware and to enhance professional effectiveness through the use of reflective practice. Organiser Lorna Goodwin, Academic Director of Enterprise and Development at St Mary’s said, “We are very excited by the continuing expansion of our international profile here at St Mary’s and hope that our ‘international mindedness’ course will attract those with aspirations to provide high quality educational experiences for pupils in the global school sector.” International Mindedness in Practice will cost £850, with a reduced price of £800 for bookings before 30th May 2014. Accommodation with bed and breakfast will be available for £300. For more information please contact Siobhan Cockrill at siobhan.cockrill@stmarys.ac.uk.
