Timetable

The programme is taught through seven intensive study weekends, each of which lasts from Friday lunchtime until Monday lunchtime, plus a range of web-based support. The weekends are at roughly three-monthly intervals.

For the next intake, weekends will be as follows:

  • 17th - 20th February 2012 (Linguistic Theory)
  • 25th - 28th May 2012 (English Language Description)
  • 14th - 17th September (Sociolinguistics)
  • 7th - 10th December (Language Acquisition)
  • Feb 2013 - (Methodology and Syllabus Design in ELT)
  • May 2013 - (Materials Development in ELT)
  • Sept 2013 - (Research Methods)

Further seminars will be at approximately three-month intervals; it will therefore be possible to complete the MA, including the dissertation, in 2 years.

What if I can’t finish the programme in two years?
Your registration at St Mary’s lasts for five years, so you should have plenty of time to finish. Obviously, no one should expect to take this long!
