
The MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT concentrates on the relationship between theory and language teaching practice. As such, the course starts with foundational aspects of language theory and language acquisition, which allow for subsequent reflection on more practical modules later in the course. The topic of your dissertation will be decided towards the end of the programme in consultation with course tutors. Students are encouraged to bring their own experiences to bear on their choice of specialisation, in order to produce a piece of work with particular relevance to students’ future careers.
