Overview

The MSc Applied Sport Psychology is aimed at those wishing to develop a career in the area of sport psychology or wish to enhance their understanding and develop their skills in the area. For the last twenty years there has been a gradual acceptance and involvement of sport psychology within sport at all levels of sporting performance.

In recognition of this the professional bodies of sport science British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and psychology British Psychological Society (BPS) have both developed professional development routes leading to recognition within the field. The programme has been designed to enable suitable candidates to progress on to attain professional recognition beyond the MSc programme.

This MSc programme provides opportunities for those interested in studying the links between psychology and the overall sporting experience as well as specifically to enhance sporting performance. The programme focuses on the development of both knowledge and applied skills critical to the applied practitioner.
