The St Mary’s MA Charity Management Programme was delighted to play host to an open session on the latest Charity Marketing techniques by Professor Adrian Sargeant recently.
Professor Sargeant (pictured on the right with Dr Geoff Paul, Director of the Charity Management Programme) is the Robert F Hartsook Professor of Fundraising at Indiana University, Professor of Nonprofit Marketing and Fundraising at Bristol Business School (UK) and an Adjunct Professor of Fundraising at the Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia.
He talked about the variety of marketing techniques used in the charity sector and led an interesting discussion with both representatives from local charities in the Twickenham area and St Mary’s Charity Management students.
Dr Paul said of the event: "It was a fantastic evening. Professor Sargeant showed students and local charity representatives how to take both their marketing and fundraising to a completely new level."
The open session was an example of the kind of events the Charity Management programme holds periodically where guest speakers share their knowledge and experience of the sector with students.
