What is the timescale of study for the MA in Leading Innovation and Change?
The MA in Leading Innovation and Change is available only on a part-time basis. The programme, made up of five modules, will extend over a minimum period of two academic years.

What type of learning will I engage in as I begin the MA in Leading Innovation and Change during 2011-12?
During the first year of the part time MA programme, participants will cover two modules, and in the second year three modules of the MA in LIAC will be completed.
The first module, Dispersed Leadership and Clarifying Professional Concerns, (30 credits) aims to support participants in understanding concepts and principles relating to dispersed leadership and professional identity within a leadership structure.

The second module, Research Methods for Project Enquiry, (30 credits) aims to enable participants to develop a robust research proposal and to explain and defend a range of research methodologies.

At the start of year 2, participants will begin the third module, Interim Evaluation of Research Project, (30 credits). This module aims to consolidate, extend and apply the understanding, knowledge and skills developed in previous modules by leading a coherent research project.  Participants will engage in reflection, critical analysis and evaluation of the enquiry undertaken.

The fourth module, Change Agency and Strategy, (30 credits) aims to align research findings to policy outcomes.  The module draws on study of the management of change, requiring participants to understand the micro-political factors that accede or impede change.

The final module, Academic Paper and Conference presentation, (60 credits) is the culmination of study in this programme.  The aim is to communicate new knowledge, drawn from a research enquiry, through an academic paper and presentation at a Conference.
