Two Video Editing Suites contain ‘state of the art’ facilities for the production of all types of video work. Sports Journalism students will be expected to produce video features, sequences and reports, primarily within the multimedia production, digital media and research modules.
One suite is fully equipped for video editing and contains 15 Intel iMacs and is used primarily for teaching and demonstrating editing skills for video and television production. Here students will be able to edit and upload videos on to the Internet for multimedia and digital media elements.
Another suite contains a further 5 dual-screen 20” iMacs. This suite is mainly for students producing longer video sequences and features and who wish to work independently. Students will use this suite to edit and produce more in-depth features for the research module. It can be accessed 24 hours a day.
In addition, the suite is complemented by several music keyboards for sound and music creation in the development of soundscapes. Audio equipment is further enhanced by the presence of high quality speakers on the Macs.
