MSc in Strength and Conditioning
Postgraduate Diploma in Strength and Conditioning
The increase in professional and lottery funded sport in addition to moves to professionalise sports coaching in the UK has led to an increased demand for strength and conditioning coaches. With this in mind, the MSc / PG Diploma in Strength and Conditioning has been developed to address this demand by providing students with an opportunity to expand their current knowledge and to develop the skills required to work in the field.
The MSc / PG Diploma programme is suitable for individuals wishing to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. The programme has been designed around a range of specialist modules to develop core knowledge and applied skills in the area of Strength and conditioning. Individuals can study on a part-time basis, completing the MSc in two years.
The programme is delivered via distance learning (online and printed resources provided) with students required to attend the University a 3 day Induction at the start of their course and a 1-2 week (dependent on the modules being taken) full-time onsite period at the end of each academic year.
The UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) offer professional accreditation to strength and conditioning coaches in the UK. Similarly the NSCA offer accreditation for the USA. This MSc will help both professionals already working in the field and graduates from related undergraduate programmes such as sport science, to work towards these professional accreditations.
