Taping and Strapping 1-day Introduction Course

The aim of this 1-day introductory course is to familiarise students with the principles of taping and strapping for use in sports injury management.

Content
Students will be able to successfully tape and strap musculoskeletal structures using elasticated and non elasticated tape, thus preventing injury during sport.

  • Principles of taping and strapping
  • Contraindications and indications to taping
  • Taping materials available
  • Taping procedures of the following joints
  • Foot, Ankle, Knee, Hip, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand
  • Taping procedures for muscular structures, compression and support for sporting injuries

Requirements
Candidates are required to hold a level 3 diploma in anatomy & physiology. It is advantageous to hold a level 3 sports massage and/or injury qualification. It is desirable that the candidate holds a current first aid certificate.

Photocopy evidence of this must accompany the application form.
