• Taping materials available
• Taping procedures of the following joints: Foot, Ankle, Knee, Hip, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand
• Taping procedures for muscular structures, compression and support for sporting injuries

Requirements

A thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology is required for this course.

Advanced Taping and Strapping

Content

The course will cover strapping and taping for pitch-side injuries, treatment through phase of healing, short and long-term biomechanical considerations and the role of taping in the prevention/recurrence of injury. The course will draw upon your experience in developing Kinetic taping techniques for a wide range of sports injuries.

The course will consider Sports Specific Injuries in the following: Rugby, Football, Hockey, Cricket, Running, Rowing, Golf.

Kinetic Strapping and Taping for Sudden onset and Overuse injuries to the:

Upper Limb

  • Shoulder Complex
  • Arm
  • Elbow
  • Wrist
  • Hand

Lower Limb

  • Lumbar spine and Pelvis
  • Hip, Knee
  • Leg
  • Ankle and Foot

Requirements

Basic taping and strapping experience is required for this course.

Award

St Mary’s Certificate of Attendance. For those who wish to qualify for additional CPD points, there will be a short SAQ written paper and a 30-minute practical examination.

rugby (Henley Hawks), running and football.

Director of The Strawberry Hill Practice, Twickenham Senior Lecturer and Physiotherapist. Has worked with professional/national/ international sports people in hockey (GB), rugby (England students), football (West Ham Utd), golf (Europe – Solheim Cup), running, cricket.
