The Chaplain

Fr Gerard Devlin has been the Chaplain at St Mary's University College since September 1996. He is a priest from the Diocese of Motherwell and was ordained in Motherwell Cathedral on 8th March 1985.

Fr Devlin served in various parishes in the Diocese before completing his Masters Degree at St Mary's University College in June 1996. He celebrated the Silver Jubilee of his Ordination to the Priesthood in the University College Chapel in 2010.

Miss Fiona Burns completed an undergraduate degree in Theology, Religion and History at St Mary’s and was elected as Students’ Union President for the academic year 2007/08.

Fiona then completed a PGCE in Secondary Education at St Mary's and taught RE and History for two years before taking up the role of Assistant Chaplain.

Mrs Kerry Anzollitto has been the Chaplaincy Administrator at St Mary's since 1989. Kerry is responsible for all the administration and the smooth running of the Chaplaincy Centre on a daily basis.

Choral Director

Martin Foster has been leading music in the Chapel on Sundays and at major liturgical celebrations since 1994. Since 2010 he has also been director of the University College Choir which sings in concerts and contributes to college events.

Outside St Mary's he is the Acting Secretary of the Liturgy Office of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales.

 

Associate Deacon

Duncan MacphersonDuncan Macpherson

Duncan Macpherson is a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching, who taught Theology at St Mary's from 1967 to 2000. He was ordained by Cardinal Basil Hume in the College chapel in 1992. Duncan preaches widely and organises workshops on preaching. 

He is Features Editor of The Preacher and a tutor of the College of Preachers. He is active in charities concerned with the Holy Land and leads pilgrimages there on a regular basis. His publications have focussed on world religions, on the Holy land and on preaching.  He is married with four grown up children and ten grandchildren.
