Profile: Dr Peter TylerDr Peter Tyler is Senior Lecturer in Pastoral Theology and Programme Director for the MA in Pastoral Theology.
He has written numerous articles on the areas of mysticism and philosophical / theological interpretation as well as books including The Return to the Mystical: Ludwig Wittgenstein, Teresa of Avila and the Christian Mystical Tradition (Continuum 2011), Sources of Transformation: Revitilizing Christian Spirituality (co-edited with Dr Edward Howells, Continuum 2010), St John of the Cross: Outstanding Christian Thinker (Continuum 2010) and The Way of Ecstasy: Praying with St Teresa of Avila (SCM-Canterbury Press 1997).
He is a UKCP registered psychotherapist and contributes to the current dialogue between spirituality and psychotherapy.
Peter is the Director of St Mary’s research centre InSpiRe - The Centre for Initiatives in Spirituality and Reconciliation.
