A three year degree programme providing part-time students with an academic qualification in Clinical Hypnosis.
You will be introduced to the theoretical concepts and the biological nature of hypnosis, practical skills required to induce hypnosis in others, simple clinical applications and the ethical use of hypnosis. In addition, you will also learn how to use the power of self-hypnosis for your own personal development.
You will progress to studying the biological basis of mind-body approaches, specialised hypnotherapeutic approaches employed to treat a wide range of clinical conditions, indirect hypnotic communication skills, and advanced inductions
.In addition a wide range of comprehensive treatment protocols are taught as well as how to set up in practice, ethical conduct, gaining business and good practice management.
You will develop research skills to enable you to carry out your own individual research project as well as learning many new state of the art advanced practical hypnotic techniques and therapeutic strategies. You will also learn how to utilise mind body rhythms for the effective treatment of more difficult clinical conditions and psychosomatic disease.
Professional qualification
Completion of Level 2 and the award
of a Diploma of Higher Education is
the minimum requirement to practice. Following completion of Level 2 you
are qualified to practice Clinical Hypnotherapy in a professional capacity and to treat patients presenting with a variety of psychological and physiological problems both within the NHS and privately. On completion of Level 2 students are eligible to apply for a clinical placement at the St Mary’s Clinic providing hypnotherapy services to the local community through GP
and private referrals.
