UCAS Application Timeline

September

Applications can be sent to us from mid-September.

15th October

Application deadline for all medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and veterinary science courses and for all courses at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

15th January

Application deadline for applications for all courses except those listed above with a 15 October deadline.

25th February

If the student is eligible to use UCAS Extra, they can refer themselves to another choice.

24th March

Application deadline for art and design courses except those listed with a 15 January deadline.

31st March

If UCAS receive applications by 15 January, the universities and colleges should aim to have sent their decisions by this date (but they can take longer).

5th May

If the student receives all decisions from the universities/colleges by 31 March, they need to reply to any offers by this date (unless they live outside the EU or are applying through Extra). If UCAS don't receive the replies, they will decline offers on the student’s behalf.

7th May

If the student applied by 15 January, universities and colleges need to send their decisions by this date. If they don't, UCAS will make any outstanding choices unsuccessful on their behalf.

8th June

If the student receives all decisions from universities/colleges by 7 May, they need to reply to any offers by this date (unless they are applying through Extra). If UCAS don't receive their replies, they will decline your offers on the student’s behalf.

30th June

This is the final date that late applications can be made if the student sends their application to UCAS by this date, it will be sent it to the chosen universities and colleges. If UCAS receive the application after this date, the student will be entered into Clearing.

If UCAS receive all decisions from the universities/colleges by 11 June, the student needs to reply to any offers by this date (unless you are applying through Extra). If UCAS don't receive your replies, UCAS will decline your offers on your behalf.

6th July

This is the last date to apply through Extra.

5th August

SQA results are published and the Scottish Clearing vacancy information service starts.

19th August

A level and Advanced Diploma results are published and the full Clearing vacancy information service starts.
Adjustment opens for registration.

31st August

Adjustment closes on this date.
